Privacy policy
Rachmanow · last updated 11 October 2026
Rachmanow is a classical concert discovery service for the UK, on iPhone and on the web at app.rachmanow.com. This policy describes what we do with your information. We collect as little as possible.
What we collect
- Account. If you sign in with Apple we receive a stable user identifier, and your name and email address only if you choose to share them. If you use a passkey we store only its public key and identifier, never your fingerprint, face or device PIN, which stay on your device. We store these to identify your account. An account created with a passkey has no email address, so it cannot be recovered if you lose every passkey for it; passkeys usually sync through your password manager.
- Favourites. The composers and venues you follow, stored against your account so they appear on your devices.
- Browsing without an account. To browse, the app or website gets an anonymous session tied to a random device identifier. It carries no personal data and lets us limit abuse of the service.
- On-device data. The iPhone app caches recently loaded concerts on your device. The website uses strictly necessary cookies only: your session (which keeps you signed in or browsing), the device identifier, and whether you have finished onboarding. We do not use cookies for advertising or analytics. The website also keeps pages you open on your device so they work offline; pages saved while you are signed in are deleted when you sign out.
- Web analytics. The website uses PostHog, hosted in the EU, to understand how the site is used — pages viewed and actions such as searches, favourites and sign-ins. Events carry a random identifier kept in your browser’s local storage rather than a cookie, IP addresses are dropped, and the iPhone app sends no analytics.
What we do not collect
- We do not process payments and never see card details. Rachmanow does not sell tickets.
- We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking, and we do not sell or share your data for marketing. The web analytics above are first-party, EU-hosted, and cover this website only.
- We do not request your location.
Where data is stored
Account and favourite data is stored in our database hosted on Fly.io (London) and Neon. The website is served by Cloudflare. Web analytics are processed by PostHog in the EU. Sign in with Apple is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
Retention and deletion
You can delete your account from the Profile tab in the app or on the website. That removes your account, passkeys and favourites from our servers. Cached concerts are removed with the app; website cookies expire on their own or when you clear them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct or erase your data. Use the contact link below and we will help.
Children
Rachmanow is not directed at children under 13.
